In the spirit of Giving Tuesday, Sunrider celebrates its fifth consecutive year of partnership with Engage Now Africa (ENA), supporting the organization’s mission to heal, rescue, and lift communities in need across Africa.
Building on a partnership that began in 2021, Sunrider’s support in 2025 has been instrumental in funding ENA’s integrated malnutrition program in Sierra Leone, providing life-saving nutritional support and education to help vulnerable children and mothers in need.
“Every child deserves the chance to grow strong and flourish,” said Sunny Beutler, CEO of Sunrider International. “Malnutrition isn’t just a health crisis—it is both a cause and a consequence of poverty. Through our partnership with Engage Now Africa, we’re empowering women and children to build healthier, stronger futures.”
The need for these services is urgent. According to the 2024 Global Hunger Index, Sierra Leone ranks 117th out of 127 countries, with a hunger level rated as “serious.” More than 62% of the population experiences insufficient food consumption, and children are among the most affected. ENA’s malnutrition program provides direct, sustained support to children at greatest risk.
The program operates out of the Kindia Town Maternal and Child Health Center, which opened in November 2024 and serves thousands of mothers and children in the region. Over the past year, the center has safely delivered more than 475 babies, treated over 3,500 patients, and supported 120 malnourished children and their families through nutrition education and therapeutic feeding.
Through its ongoing partnership with ENA, Sunrider has helped build the Wonber Maternal Health Center in Ethiopia, funded adult literacy and vocational skills programs in Ghana, and played a key role in completing the Atiyorum Community Health Planning and Services Compound (CHPS), which now serves more than 17,000 people across seven communities.
Looking ahead, Sunrider plans to continue its partnership with Engage Now Africa into 2026, deepening its commitment to efforts that strengthen communities, promote wellness, and inspire hope for generations to come.
“Giving back isn’t just what we do—it’s at the heart of who we are,” added Beutler. “We are honored to partner with Engage Now Africa, supporting programs that give families the tools and opportunities they need to thrive.”
